Central Valley Mortgage Services CVMS Porterville, Ca.
This is intended to educate and inform the public about what is going on with “companies” on line claiming to be legitimate foreclosure companies with years of impeccable service. The information is accurate and provided first hand after I received a call from Central Valley Mortgage Services in Porterville, Ca. http://www.cvmsinc.com/dnn/Home/tabid/36/Default.aspx
I first received a call from a Thomas Duran on Friday Nov 06, 2009 from CVMS. He explained he was seeking contractors to do foreclosure property rehabs and preservations in the South Ill. area and I was told they had NO contractors to cover this area. I was told they had hundreds of work orders coming in on thousands of properties that needed everything from lock changes to complete trash-outs, roofing, drywall and a huge list of other things. I was made to understand this area was wide open and in desperate need of someone to start the work.
Mr. Duran told me that he would work with me and my crew on the phone 24/7 if needed to facilitate the completion of every work order. I also talked with a second rep named Ryan on or about the 10th of Nov. and he said he would Email me an agreement form and W-9 which I would have to complete as well as provide a cert. of insurance with CVMS named as second insured. All this sounded fine and not unusual. However this E mail was already 4 days late as Mr. Duran said he would send it out on the 6th in our first phone conversation.
On Friday Nov. 13th 2009 I still had not received my E mail and I had already started to assemble a crew to go to Ill. to do this work. I called and left a message for Mr. Duran to call me. Monday and Tuesday Nov. 16 & 17th I still received no reply. So Wednesday the 18th I made a few more calls to CVMS and talked to the receptionist and told her I was concerned that I was not having any of my calls returned and I had not even received my first E mail after two weeks. She put me back on the phone with Ryan who took my E mail info again letter by letter like he never heard it before, when just a few days earlier he recited it to me from a note he had. This seemed odd and I started to wonder how this company could operate like this.
I got home a few hours later and checked my Email and found no E again. Now I knew something did not smell right about this. I called again and talked to the receptionist and told her I was starting to doubt everything about CVMS if they couldn’t even send an E in two weeks. She tried the ..” hold on and “.. I cut her off with “if I can’t get an Email with the agreement and my W-9 in the next 15 min I am done. . I told her I could not consider working for a company who can’t return phone calls or send out an E for two weeks and I needed some work orders to schedule SOON as we were getting ready to leave and drive 1,100 mile in two more days and I wanted to get a schedule together with a map in order to cover the list effectively without having to drive all over S. Il. and waste time. She informed me that this would not be possible as they received work orders and sent them out daily and they were completed in 3 to 5 days. This conflicted all the information I had received form Mr. Duran and Ryan and I told her so. I said “ooooohhh so this is not a company with thousands of properties and a back log of work orders and NO contractors in the area as I have been told”? She repeated “our work orders come in daily and they go right out and they are all completed in 3 to 5 days” as if she was reading from a card. I told her that this was the opposite of everything I was told so far and this did NOT look good.
Soon afterwards the E finally came. Well the agreement was absolutely laughable.
If you go to the CVMS website they claim to be a 20 year veteran of HUD, Fanny Mae, and a whole list of other Governmental property rehabs. They list at least 20 reps with phone lines and extensions. They show a multi million dollar house on the home page of their site however when I go to Google earth and punch in the address 641 S. Plano, Porterville, Ca. instead of finding and equally impressive building and a parking lot for the 20 employee’s I find a tiny little building with parking for no more than 4 cars. NOT what I would expect for a successful company with even 5 years of successful business.
I present these facts as accurately as possible to inform the consumers and public of this phony baloney scam.
I don’t know what CVMS is but I’m sure they are not a legitimate company with years of experience. They can’t even send an Email in two weeks let alone schedule or complete work.
In reality the “hundreds” of work orders they had with no one to give them to was a lie. They wanted someone to drive across country and sit in a motel and wait a few weeks to get an unspecified and unknown amount of work orders. So the hundreds of work orders were really a sit and wait to see what comes in.
CVMS is a company to be avoided if you ask me as they wasted at LEAST $500.00 worth of my time. I hate liars and frauds and I got nothing but lies from them. I swear an affirm all of the infomation provided here is 100% FACT and true. stitch_shifter@hotmail.com

I see where they claim $500,000 to $1,000,000 anually. Devided up into all the states they claim to do business they only do about 8 jobs per week Max per state.__ Divide that up into logistic areas to make it possible to do 3-5 day projects and you can only get about $300.00 worth of work a week that is reasonably possible to complete. I've done this work for almost 30 years so I know what is involved. There is no way to schedule more than one day at a time and it will take 3-5 days to complete every job so if any two jobs are more than 5 miles apart it will not be possible to do more than 2 jobs per 5 days. Again no more than $400.00 per week. Figure in your gas, lodging, materials, insurance, licensing, workmans comp, and you will be paying to rehab houses for the government.__ The numbers just do NOT add up. This company promises good money to be made but it won't even equal minimum wage.
There is way too many companies nowadays working in this way. I am sick of these ppl being able to tell outright lies to get ahead. What can we expect when our governments do EXACTLY the same thing.
Dec 01 2009 Guess what? Mr. Thomas Duran called me again on Nov. 30th at about 8:14 P.M. He called and left the message that they were looking for contractors in S Illinois area. Where do you think he got my number? Must eb that Craigs List ad I plaed a few weeks ago in the Illinois listings. These people ONLY solicit Craigs List because it's free. You would think that an established company with 20 years of experiance in the state they claim to do business would have something better than craigs List to find qualified contractors.

After trying to understand your frustration with this company, and the 100 properties you were “promised”, I find it difficult to believe that any company would hold 100 work orders for you. I, myself, would not plan on driving 1100 miles or start getting a crews hopes up for something that sounds so unbelievable. Nothing gets done till it’s in writing, “Business 101″.
I never think of the future. It comes soon enough.
This is funny. My brother works at Craig’s List and tells me that they are constantly placing ads on there looking for unlicensed contractors. Most of there ads are directed towards mom and pop business (I guess that’s so they can screw them). From what he told me, they get several complaints about this company. I can see why from these posting. Its to bad there are company’s out there like this. They should be shut down.
