My Preparations For 2012
I have been sitting back for the last two years enjoying myself. I see the books being written about 2012 and listen to the talk shows. It seems the same crowd of authors and guests from the “Y2K” scenario are back again for another round.
The first time I remember this sort of thing was the middle 80’s and the planetary alignment. It was suppose to change the earth’s tilt and cause all kinds of imagined destruction including wiping out most of the human race. I even see the planet X people coming back for another round. That “planet” in the far reaches of our solar system that comes in every “how ever many” years the particular book says. To destroy life on our planet.
I picture the authors and promoters going back to their dusty old closets and pulling out the tapes and books. After a few short puffs from their mouths to get the top layer of dirt off. they look at the book and say, hmmmm time for a few quick updates and back on the promo circuit.
On talk shows there seems to be a great need for the next sensation to come along and grab people’s interest. Remember “balloon boy.” We have become excitement junkies with a never ending hunger for the next scary thing to tingle our nerves.
This 2012 thing started with a Mayan calendar cycle. If anyone has investigated about the scholarship behind the calendar they would notice something. The experts of Mayan decent do not talk about the world coming to an end. When asked to explain they tell about a calendar of cycles much like our modern day calendar cycles back to January 1 at the end of the year. No ending, just a starting of the next cycle according to the way their calendar is laid out.
So what will I do? Likely when 2012 arrrives or any particular day in 2012 that is the so called “day” I will be fast asleep. Midnight rarely ever comes with my being conscous. I will likely be doing much the same as I do now day by day. I will be planning my rides somewhere in the US on my motorcycle to visit friends on my motorcycle.
Enjoy the adrenalin rush, those of you that believe in the 2012 thing. I will take it as mildly amusing entertainment and nothing more.

me and my wife have been researching 2012 for about 2 years now and have allready started planning they say by 2010 you will see it in the sky and i think thats about the time we will have everything ready we are looking to start a survival group or if anyone else has one that we can join let me know ill check back later thanks
If any of it is true I doubt very much any planning will do any good. You just may as well sit back and except your fate.
The Mayans were a fascinating and amazing civilization. The Mayan calender does not end on December 21, 2012, it begins another cycle. There are many things that we can learn from the Mayans, but doomsday prophecies are not one them.
I agree totally. The media just loves a goodthing to frighten us with.
